For the healthy pregnant woman who desires a personalized pregnancy and birth experience without routine or unnecessary interventions, home birth attended by a Certified Nurse Midwife provides a safe and economical alternative to birth in a hospital setting. Birthing at home allows the family to customize their birth experience to include a variety of options including use of a warm water pool/tub for labor and/or birth, birth in a variety of positions, birth assisted by the woman’s partner or other loved ones, and delayed cord clamping/spontaneous placenta delivery. We work with each family to determine how we can best meet their needs during the prenatal period, the birth process, and the postpartum period. It is our desire to enhance the family’s experience of birth while providing appropriate monitoring of the well-being of the mother and baby. Counseling regarding the latest medical recommendations for care and alternatives are provided to the client to allow true informed consent.
